How i get my toddler to eat healthier

enjoying rice with panera broccoli cheddar soup

I have heard many moms complain about their kids refusing to eat, and i can relate because i have had my own share of days where my daughter simply refuses certain food. Not to toot my own horn but my daughter has been a good eater, she eats everything i eat and things that most kids would refuse in an instance oat meal, broccoli, avocado, ...and so on. She is almost three and still breast feeds ( i really don't mind) and eats anything i put on her place, so here is the secret to my successful meal time.

Give them healthy choices

Stalk your fridge with healthy variety, i love to get Dannon greek yogurt
i usually get these in different flavors, they are delicious and very healthy and they make a great snacks.
Another thing that by daughter loves to snack on is pop corn
they have in many flavors too, and i added the links just so you can get a better idea of what you can find at the supermarket.
This is another snacks she really loves is the Welch's its sweet and simply delicious. The welch's also have the fruit snacks.
she also loves apples but only the crunch kind and honestly so do I. she doesn't care for banana so what i do is make a smoothie (that's how i get her to eat most fruit) and she enjoys it.

Breakfast
For break fast we have oat meal, I make it fun by allowing her cook it with me every time.
She enjoys putting in the ingredients which are : Milk, oatmeal, brown sugar and cinnamon. When ready we pour it in a plate and i top it with some sprinkle of Nesquik chocolate powder and she eats every last bite. we do eggs and waffles, cereal, veggie omelette and she recently started liking pancakes.
Lunch
so at lunch we have pasta, she loves spaghetti (Italian blood), she enjoys it in any form, so usually i like to keep it simple, i make her "Spaghetti Aglio Pepperoncino" which means garlic pasta. it only has olive oil, chopped up garlic and pepper flakes and pasta of course...Dah! and she loves it and i spread some parmigiana cheese on it..her words are ...oooo yumm! and sometimes we have rice and veggies (she love peas), beans and rice etc.

Dinner
At dinner she likes chicken soup (family favorite) except Me, i am not quite a fan. she enjoys chicken soup with lots of carrots and celery. she enjoys the small noodle pasta with her soup. other evenings we have pizza and bake potatoes.

our dinning habits are very simple, what i have come to understand about my daughters feeding habit is that she prefers her meals simple, nothing fancy. I know sometimes it is hard when they refuse to eat, believe me i have had my share of that and when that happens i just let her choose what she wants (which most of the time is something healthy) or just allow her to get hungry on her terms. there are days when she prefers to eat oatmeal or cereal as dinner, which i don't mind. so these are a few things that my toddler loves to eat which are good and healthy, i know not all kids are the same but it is up us to teach them the right eating habit right from the beginning.

XOXO
